The really really long post

Okay, so that wasn’t meant to be saved. Mr ScrambledMinds had shown me a technique for “snipping” posts to save real estate on the main page, and that was the test post. Except I forgot to delete it. And now people have commented on it so I probably shouldn’t delete it as it forms part of the whole Dud discussion.
And yes, activity has been down. Too much. But we did go to the Dud earlier this week, and all is good.
It makes me question the nature of the Dudwatch. Is it still as it started out, a vital missing link giving commentary over a Woollahra icon, or has it evolved into something more? Part of me feels that it has – in the words of the Late Show, “it’s holding up a mirror to multicultural Australia”.
Maybe.
Dunno.

“A mirror to multicultural Australia”? Really? Well, maybe. I have seen a bunch of POMs there. And some Americans. And there’s that lady who looks like a man. And that old guy. And that weird skinny woman with skin like a handbag. And a cat. So it is pretty multicultural. Perhaps the Dud is what binds us all together as Woollahrains and beer-lovers? Or perhaps it’s just the only place close enough to stumble home from?

Why is POM capitalised? Is it an acronym? Nothing worse than uneducated multiculturalism…
